Cape Town Wedding: Zach and Jaimie

Zach and Jaimie, one of the absolute nicest couples I have worked with. When you meet Zach, you just cant help but smile, because all he does is smile. He looks at Jaimie as though she is made of gold, they are continuously giggling and having a good time.

It was a real joy to help plan their wedding day at Vrede en Lust.

Unfortunately Jaimie caught a bug the night before their wedding, and she landed up on a drip. Thankfully, her trip to the emergency room helped her and she started to feel better. When I saw her in her dress, there was honestly zero evidence that she was so ill a few hours before. She was radiant!  She walked down that aisle as if she had been ready the whole day.

I have planned a lot of weddings, and I usually get a bit teary eyed during the ceremony. But Zach took the cake on this one. He got so emotional when he saw Jaimie, it was such a beautiful moment to watch. Their ceremony was so joyful and full of love. I don’t think I will ever forget their first kiss, you’ll know what I mean when you see the sequence of photos below.

The cocktail hour was was filled with ice cold cocktails, MCC served from a beautiful champagne cart, amazing food and live music. It is always a good idea to include something extra for the guests to enjoy, whether it is lawn games, a photo booth or live music.

Their reception decor was so pretty! Botanica Flowers did a great job with the couples brief. Jaimie also wanted to include a few personal nods to their worldly travels & her beautiful mom. Including really personal things into a wedding is always really special.

The reception was really entertaining with their great speeches. I don’t always get to listen to all of them as I am busy with other things, but it always makes me smile when you hear roaring laughter. They decided on Me and Mr Green as their live band, and they did not disappoint. They had the dance floor rocking until the early hours of the morning.

Wedding Planning is not for the faint hearted. It’s long hours, hard work and it’s very personal. And after a long few weeks of weddings, I was exhausted, every wedding planner knows the feeling. But then Zach and Jaimie’s wedding took place, and they just let me do my job, they trusted me and allowed me to change things up when Jaimie was ill so we could give her more time to get ready, and they just went with it. My love and decision to be a wedding planner comes right back when things like this happen. It makes me appreciate my job and my clients so much more.

To the lovely couple, thank you for giving me a renewed energy for my job, you are such a great couple and I wish you so much love and happiness.

Enjoy the photos, they are truly something special!
