Cape Town Wedding: Roxanne and Divan

Roxanne and Divan’s wedding was a special one for me. We met over a glass of wine and hit it off right away. It was 2019 and we were all blissfully unaware of what was in store for 2020.

Postponing a wedding is truly heart breaking, but Roxanne and Divan wouldn’t let anything stand in their way of planning their dream wedding. They of course were forced to postpone, but we continued to plan the wedding through lockdown, so once lockdown lifted, we were ready to go!

I couldn’t have been more ready if I tried! This wedding was my first big wedding since March 2020. We went a whole 18 months without work, our industry took a massive knock, so I won’t lie when I say arriving for setup the day before the wedding was a bit emotional. I got there far earlier than I needed to and on the wedding night I literally made it home with 1 minute to spare before curfew, as I didn’t want to miss out on anything. Everyone went through something when it comes to this pandemic, but I truly understand what it feels like to walk down the aisle after a postponement, and it is a feeling like no other, pure and utter love and happiness!

Roxanne and Divan radiated happiness all day long. Their ceremony was picture perfect and filled with laughter and tears of joy. Their cocktail hour was on the deck at Molenvliet. The deck was setup with beautiful furniture, live music and great food. The weather held up thankfully and it was a beautiful evening.

The speeches were super emotional and there was barely a dry eye in the room. After dinner Divan surprised Roxanne with a special song sung by himself and their sweet niece.

Most guests had not been to any event or wedding for a long time, so they were super excited to get onto the dance floor and they pulled out all the moves and partied with DJ Chopper!

It was one amazing wedding and I will always remember it with fond memories. Working with Roxanne and Divan was wonderful and they really allowed me to guide them during the planning, which is something I am always grateful for. I wish you both all the good things that this life has to offer. I have not doubt that your marriage will be filled with enormous amounts of love and lots of adventure.
