This wedding was a particularly special one for me, as I had planned Tyrone’s sister’s wedding a few years ago, so it was such a lovely full-circle moment to be asked to plan Tyrone and Santia’s day too.
They chose to keep their wedding beautifully intimate, celebrating with just 24 of their closest friends and family at Vergenoegd Löw.
It was a proper wintery Cape Town day, which somehow worked perfectly with everything we had planned. The florals were moody and romantic, complementing the weather and the setting beautifully, but with just enough colour and vibrance to lift the overall look.
Tyrone and Santia had a really special ceremony in the venue’s chapel, surrounded by the people closest to them. Afterwards, golf carts collected everyone and took them across to cocktail hour, where we had a warm fire going, plenty of drinks and delicious canapés. Simply Strings played live music in the background, which created such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere.
For the reception, all 24 guests sat together at one long table, which was perfect for such an intimate wedding. They ate, drank, laughed and shared some wonderful speeches, it felt more like one big dinner with family and friends than a traditional formal reception.
But small wedding definitely did not mean small party!
Once the dance floor opened, it was OPEN. Everyone got involved and they danced the night away.
Tyrone and Santia, thank you for trusting me with your wedding. It was so special to be part of another celebration for your family, and I loved seeing how much fun everyone had together.
Such a beautiful reminder that you really don’t need a huge guest list to have an incredible wedding. Sometimes having your absolute favourite people together in one room is all you need.
