I just loved planning this gorgeous wedding for Maria and David at Belair.
This lovely couple live overseas, so once I was hired to be their planner here in Cape Town, we hit the ground running and worked through the venue options before they settled on Belair.
They had their pre event at the Spice Route, which is such a great spot and right next door to the venue. The guests got to know each other and have a relaxed evening before the event.
The venue is built with a few accommodation options on the property, so the guys got ready in one area by the pool and the ladies got ready in the other area. It’s always great to have a relaxed space where you know you wont bump into each other before the day starts.
The ceremony was down in their open “chapel” which is just so pretty! The floral installation on the chandelier and one on the wall was just gorgeous and everyone commented on how stunning it was.
The cocktail hour was on the front lawn where they could play lawn games, drink cocktails and listen to the live music.
They also had a great bridal party and they choreographed a few dances for the entrances. So once the guests were all seated in the reception, they entered to a dance they had practised. This really got the crowd going and everyone loved it! They all had fab moves!
The speeches were really heartfelt and lovely and it is always nice to hear the stories of the couple that the friends and family tell. One of my favourite parts of the evening was the dance off between Maria and her mom against David and his mom! I smiled the entire way through this, it was so fun to watch them!
Once they popped the confetti canons it was time to start the party. We had a sax, a DJ, a popcorn machine, a dessert station, a photo booth and lots of Jägerbomb shots! It really was such a lovely party and all the effort that they put into making sure the day went like clockwork, was worth it!
Thank you Maria and David for allowing me to plan such a beautiful day for you. I really enjoyed getting to know you both and I wish you all the love and happiness in the world!
