Cape Town Wedding: Candice and Chloe

Candice and Chloe travelled all the way from Australia to celebrate their wedding in Cape Town, surrounded by their closest family and friends at Boschendal. Their vision was simple: make the most of the beautiful farm setting and spend as much of the day outdoors as possible.

From the beginning, the plan was to host everything outside, the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. As any planner knows, outdoor weddings always come with an extra layer of logistics and a healthy respect for the weather forecast. In the days leading up to the wedding, we watched conditions carefully, balancing contingency plans with the couple’s dream of celebrating under the open sky.

As if weather planning wasn’t enough, an unexpected fire close to the farm in the lead-up to the wedding added another layer of uncertainty. There were plenty of moving parts, last-minute conversations and contingency discussions behind the scenes, but thankfully the Boschendal team, suppliers and everyone involved pulled together to ensure the celebration could continue as planned.

And what a celebration it was.

Guests gathered outdoors for a heartfelt ceremony surrounded by the beauty of the Winelands (with a bit of smoke from the fire for extra efffect) before moving into a relaxed cocktail hour filled with laughter, food and good South African wine. As the sun began to set, everyone took their seats for dinner outdoors.

After the amazing dinner, the tearful speeches and the fun photos, the celebration moved indoors where the atmosphere transformed completely. The reception space was draped in soft fabric, with sparkling disco balls and sparklers, and creating the perfect setting for an unforgettable party. What started as an elegant outdoor wedding quickly became a vibrant dance floor filled with energy, joy and plenty of happy tears.

Candice and Chloe approached every challenge with humour, trust and a sense of adventure. Even when wedding drama inevitably appeared along the way, they remained focused on what mattered most, celebrating their marriage with the people they love.
