I am so pleased to be able to finally share this lovely Jewish wedding. Louise and Mike were introduced to me by the lovely Alex from The Wedding Boutique. They needed a wedding planner to help pull their wedding day together.
We had a meeting and took it from there. They are such a lovely couple. Super laid back, but with really fun ideas in mind. Louise wasn’t bothered about silly little things, they were more focused on the overall look and feel and how their guests were made to feel. Louise and a friend designed the place mats for the reception. Instead of the simple name and one colour place mat, they designed a whole story around their lives. They chose their menu based on their favourite foods, they included a drawing of their beloved cat and they made mention of the bridal party. I think it is very important to make mention of those who stand by your side as you become husband and wife. They also call each other “Goose”, so they designed a logo of 2 geese and this was used throughout the wedding, don’t you just love a nickname? So cute!
The couple chose East City Studio’s in Cape Town to have their ceremony and reception. This venue caters for pretty much anything your heart desires. The panoramic views of the city and Table Mountain are just stunning and the overall white look allows you to add as much or as little colour as you want. They wanted their ceremony upstairs, with their reception downstairs and then their dancing upstairs – this took a bit of planning and logistics, but with the right staff, anything is possible. Urbantonic were super helpful on this wedding and they really went over and above to help me pull this day together.
Louise and Mike’s ceremony was an emotional one. Jewish wedding traditions are really something special. Mike’s brother, Doron, specially hand crafted the gorgeous wooden chuppa for the day. (I am proud to say that I now hire this beauty out for future weddings) They said their vows under something beautiful and were surrounded by friends and family. As you can see in the photos, their guests know how to dance, and I mean, they REALLY know how to dance. I enjoyed it from the side lines, but I couldn’t stop smiling. It’s such a lovely thing to witness all the joy that a wedding brings.
Choni G did such a fabulous job with the singing. His voice is just incredible and he really captured the guests attention. There was not a dry eye in the house when Louise walked down the aisle.
All in all, a really beautiful wedding to be a part of.
Thanks to the lovely couple for allowing me to help in planning such a special day. I wish you all the love and happiness in the world!
