Cape Town Wedding: Jay and Charlene

Jay and Charlene, I just wanted to hug them everytime I saw them.
They are the most laid back clients with a love for all the good things in life.

They live in the UK and were married at the stunning Mont Rochelle in Franschhoek. They hired me to be their wedding planner. They took out the whole venue for a few days and spent some quality time with family and friends.

They had such a special ceremony on the sunny lawn over looking the mountains. The cocktail hour was filled with the musical tunes of AmaAmbush, the couple even did a dance to one of their songs. The couple shoot and bridal party photos are just amazing. Charlene looked incredible! The boys wore a slightly different look to the normal tux, and I totally loved it.

The gorgeous wedding decor was done by the ever talented Rowenna from Botanica flowers. Goeters hung naked bulbs above the tables and it all looked so pretty when it was all set up.

The wedding reception area was filled with the funniest slide shows, the sweetest speeches and A LOT of rain. We are experiencing a severe drought right now, but for about 15 minutes that night, one would never have thought. The rain bucketed down and actually came into the venue’s conservatory that is inside and covered. Now I know most people wouldn’t blog about things that go wrong at weddings, but it is important to know that things can and do go wrong, and every wedding planner knows that. But it is just how you handle it that makes all the difference. The couple were obviously my first priority, but they were SO chilled about it all. ‘It is only our feet getting wet, this is nothing compared to the London rain, we consider this a blessing” THIS is what they said, ummm, hello the best people ever to calm my wedding planner stressed out heart! The rain eventually stopped and the venue was cleared of the water – and then the wedding carried on as if nothing had happened.

The guests still got to eat, they still danced and they still made memories to last a lifetime. The rain came pouring down and though we were inside, we got our feet wet. This just showed me that no matter what, this is not the type of thing that you must allow to ruin your day. It was a magical day. It was definitely a favourite of mine this season and I was proud to be apart of it. My feelings of stress quickly disappeared when I saw the couple having a blast. The photos tell a story of love and happiness, and maybe a few wet feet.

Jay & Charlene, I wish you all the best in your future together and cant wait to hear about all your future adventures you go on together.

Much love to you both xx
