Oooooh this wedding and these photos! I am so happy that this lovely couple finally got to have their special day in Cape Town. And not even a bit of rain would dampen their spirits!
Kate and Tim are literally the most chilled out couple ever. They allowed me to guide them and suggest providers and they were so lovely to work with. The chose Boschendal Mountain Villa for their 3 night stay.
We had planned an intimate outdoor dinner and the morning of setup was warm and sunny, the weather forecast said no rain whatsoever! But within minutes these dark clouds rolled in and the wind picked up drastically. I had to make the call within seconds to move the whole setup under the verandah. I know how hard of a decision this is and I never want to disappoint a couple, but sometimes we have to make the tough decisions, and so we picked up what we had set up so far and moved onto plan b! (a quick thank you to Botanica Flowers & Authentic Planning for the last minute help and change up) But honestly, plan b was actually pretty amazing!
We had an option for the ceremony should the rain continue to come down, but Kate and Tim said that the rain was not an issue for them! Even if it was drizzling, they wanted an outdoor wedding. It was a very special ceremony that was done by Kate’s father. They laughed, cried and got a little bit damp – but that did not bother them in the slightest!
The sun decided to make a short appearance in time for their couple shoot, and I am obsessed with the photos from Kikitography, Skillie did such a wonderful job capturing their personalities. The mountain looks so beautiful, almost like a painting.
The dinner was setup up on the verandah and it all looked so magnificent. I love how even though the group was small, it didn’t feel out of place, it kind of felt like it was always supposed to be setup there.
The reception was such fun. The speeches were hilarious. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The view amazing and the overall feeling was just pure love! I had mentioned to the venue that I am not sure how long the group would party until as it was smaller than a “usual” wedding, but one must never judge a book by its cover, and this group proved me very wrong! They thoroughly enjoyed themselves on the dance floor and partied the night away. I cant help but smile when I look at these photos. It’s the type of photography that you see in old homes in ornate frames. They give you a feeling of warmth and happiness. It’s like you can feel the joy when you look at them.
Kate and Tim, thank you for being such epic humans! I really enjoyed getting to know you and I wish you both a lifetime of love!
