Cape Town Wedding: Hannah & JP

From our very first call, I knew Hannah and JP were going to be my kind of people.

Based in Tanzania, they are one of those couples who immediately make you feel like you’ve known them forever. We bonded quickly over two very important things in life: food and dogs. As fate would have it, we both welcomed puppies into our lives within weeks of each other.

Clearly, Hannah and JP don’t do anything in half measures, straight from planning a wedding into puppy parenthood!

Their wedding weekend took place at Landtscap, surrounded by breathtaking views and rolling vineyards, and it was every bit as vibrant, joyful, and full of personality as they are.

The celebrations began the night before with a traditional Roce ceremony, a beautiful pre-wedding ritual. The ceremony symbolises the bride and groom being blessed and prepared for marriage, with family and friends applying coconut milk to the couple as a sign of purification, blessings, and the transition into married life. It is a meaningful tradition, but also one filled with laughter, music, dancing, and plenty of celebration. For many guests, it was a special opportunity to experience a cultural tradition that has been passed down through generations.

The following day, everyone returned to celebrate Hannah and JP’s wedding.

Colour was woven throughout every aspect of the day, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere from start to finish. One of my favourite details was the stationery, which was beautifully designed by their friends. It added such a personal touch and reflected the creativity and love that surrounded the entire weekend.

And then there was the food.

Anyone who knows me knows that food is one of my favourite parts of any wedding, and Two Chefs absolutely delivered. Every course was exceptional, beautifully presented and packed with flavour. It was the kind of meal guests talk about long after the wedding is over.

As the evening unfolded, the party really came alive. There were shots flowing, desserts being enjoyed, espresso martinis making their rounds, and a packed dance floor from start to finish. The energy was infectious, and it was impossible not to get swept up in the excitement.

What I loved most about Hannah and JP’s wedding was how effortlessly it reflected who they are as a couple. It wasn’t about perfection or formality. It was about bringing together the people they love, celebrating their cultures and traditions, eating incredible food, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

It was colourful, heartfelt, joyful, and so much fun.

Hannah and JP, thank you for trusting us with such a special weekend. It was an absolute privilege to be part of it, and I loved getting to know you both along the way. Here’s hoping married life is slightly easier than raising a puppy!
