This gorgeous wedding was such a pleasure to plan. Yalini and Alex live in Chicago and they chose Boschendal to plan their special day.
Yalini’s family is from Sri Lanka, so they had a traditional ceremony held by a Guru. It was a 90 min ceremony filled with lots of colour, petal throwing, songs and love. I absolutely adore watching traditional ceremonies like that, it is so special when the family are included in the process.
Once the ceremony was complete, the couple had photos, drinks and canapes on the lawn. Guests were then allowed to go back to their rooms to relax and change outfits. At 5:30pm they arrived back for dinner, speeches and dancing.
As usual, the photos from Catherine are such perfection!
I loved the decor and flowers for this wedding. They went with bright colours for the ceremony and then softer, pastel colours for the reception. They sat in a tunnel of fairy lights which made it so stunning and intimate. Everything was perfect and I was so pleased with the outcome.
Thank you Yalini and Alex, I am thrilled that I got to plan your wedding and I look forward to visiting you in Chicago when we come over.
