Jolandie & George’s Wedding Day

This wedding was awesome!

Jolandie and George exchanged vows in the sweetest little chapel on the grounds of a gorgeous little B&B in McGregor. Lords Guest House is a really great place for a small to medium sized wedding. You can hire out the entire venue, and that is exactly what Jolandie & George did!

This wedding was slightly different as it was a morning wedding, so that meant, a very early wake up call! Although, normally, I am not a morning person, I was quite excited to get up and get the day going. The day started off with John the bagpiper, I actually loved this idea! I think I might put it in my wedding file for future use for my wedding one day :)

The décor was amazing, Jolandie had a lot of great ideas, so, together with Liz Puccini Creations we really made the reception area a stunning place to be.

I was very proud of this wedding, high five to me, but seriously, George & Jolandie knew what they wanted, they came to me to bring everything together and I am very pleased that they did.

I thought they both looked amazing and the day went off really well.

Jolandie & George, I want to thank you for allowing me to be apart of your special day. I wish you love, light and happiness in your future.

Rickety Bridge Wedding Fair

I attended the Rickety Bridge Wedding Fair in Franschhoek this weekend. What I liked about this fair, was that it was small and intimate, you get to see and speak to everyone and the table they give you is a great 1.8metres, so there is so much space.

As I am a wedding planner, it was difficult to plan a stand, as everyone thought I offered décor, haha. Although I do offer décor, a wedding planner offers so much more. I am the one person any bride or groom can come to during the stressful times of planning, I sort out the finer details and make sure everything comes together on the day.

These days, with the market how it is, many brides want to be the D.I.Y bride, and although I applaud them, I mean, who doesn’t want to plan their own wedding? I do offer help in ways that they can’t. While a bride is getting her hair done and the groom is being photographed, I manage the day and all the behind the scenes things.

You don’t want your guests wondering around the venue trying to find the loo’s or your grandmother getting wet in the rain because there were no umbrella’s.

At the fair, I met some really great couples and enjoyed hearing their feedback.

My favourite part was when the cellphones came out and they started taking photos of my stand – yay for me!

Thanks to www.decor4u.co.za for supplying me with some fantastic décor supplies and to www.whipped-cakes.co.za for the amazing and very yummy cupcakes.

“She instantaneously put the magic back into planning our special day” – this is why I became a Wedding Planner :)

Myself and Sascha were planning our wedding from the UK which in itself has its own difficulties.

After a terrible experience with a wedding planning company in Cape Town we were left out of pocket and with alot of work still needing to be done.

Our friend put us in contact with Cara and from the offset she was just brilliant. We had never met her face to face but she knew the difficulties we were facing trying to plan a wedding from another country but her professional and leadership qualities shone through and she made us feel so at ease.

She instantaneously put the magic back into planning our special day!

When we finally did get to meet Cara we were so blown away by her knowledge, ideas and professionalism. She made the whole process look so easy and made dealing with the venue, decor company and everyone else a dream. She knew exactly what we wanted, what would and wouldn’t work and delivered on every aspect!

Our Wedding day was the best we had ever been to and that sentiment was repeated to us over and over again by our guests.

Cara we could never thank you enough for what you did for us. You will always be our saving Angel and I know both myself and Sascha will never forget that.

I will happily refer Cara to anyone planning on getting married - she really is just “brilliant” !!!

Cindy & Grant Engagement Shoot

Cindy & Grant are such an awesome couple!
They are getting married on May 5th and I am very excited to see it all happen!

Veronique Mills is their photographer.

I am very pleased that we settled on her as her work is fantastic, just look at these engagement photos! All of them are just gorgeous!

I cannot wait to see this couple on their wedding day, it is going to be stunning!

Yay for Cindy & Grant!

Jolandie & George Engagement Shoot

I am very excited for the wedding of Jolandie and George to arrive.

They will be having a weekend wedding at Lords Guest Lodge in McGregor.
They had their engagement shoot a few weeks back with the amazing Dewald Kirsten.

I think the photos are stunning and if these are anything to go by, the wedding photos are going to be awesome!

Enjoy the photos!

Sascha and Justins Wedding Day

Sascha and Justin are just the sweetest couple! I was very excited when Sascha contacted me to help plan her wedding.

They both live in the UK so I would be up for yet another challenge!

They had already found their venue, which was the ever stunning Bloemendal Restaurant in Durbanville.

This really is a gorgeous place for a wedding.

Sascha’s theme was vintage inspired, so the challenge was to get the décor and flowers right.
Thankfully she liked my ideas and we went full steam ahead with the mock up. I liased with her bridesmaid Christine and everything came together really well.

We met a few days before at the venue to discuss the final plans. Justin is a total laugh and I thoroughly enjoyed his jokes.

They both looked amazing on the day and everything went off without a hitch.
This couple is so awesome that just before the wedding they spoilt me with a voucher for the Life Day Spa in the Crystal Towers! I told you I have legendary couples! ;)

To Mr & Mrs Smith – thank you for allowing me to be apart of your special day. Planning this with you was wonderful and great fun for me.

I wish you both lots of love and happiness for the rest of your lives!

Dani and Marks Wedding Day

Mark and Dani happy in love on their wedding day

A perfect match and a perfect wedding The Bridal PartyWelcome to my blog!

I thought I would start off by telling you how my very first wedding went off. Basically, I was not only the wedding planner, but also the maid of honor - can you say STRESSFUL!

My friends Dani and Mark live in London, when they decided to get married, there was only one place to do it – South Africa.

Dani and I spent hours on Skype, going through the little things like what colours she would use, what type of flowers she liked (or didn’t like) all the way to the big things, like the venue choice and who would make our bridesmaids dresses.

Every now and then Dani would have a slight panic attack “How are we going to get everything together and ready in 3 months” she would say, although nervous, I would calmly say “Dani, don’t stress, I have this under control.” And to be honest, I really did.

Once we got the ball rolling, things ran pretty smoothly, there were obviously hiccups along the way, there always are. But I pulled what resources and contacts I had in the wedding industry and we got everything together. Dani’s Mom was a great help too and everything went according to plan.

Once Dani and Mark arrived in SA, we set off to finish the small things, like the name tags, seating plan, who would sit next to who, the gifts for the guests, etc.

Then the wedding day finally arrived! I think I was more excited than the bride herself!

I was so happy that everything had come together and that I would not only see my friend walk down the aisle and enjoy her wedding day, but that I could stand next to her while she said her wedding vows and became Marks wife!

I secretly (or maybe not so secretly) cried the whole day!

But when I walked into the venue, I could breathe a sigh of relief. Everything looked amazing! The décor was gorgeous and it was exactly what Dani had invisioned. The rest of the night went off without a hitch, the speeches were hilarious yet really sentimental, the food was great, the music was a hit and we danced the night away.

When the lights came on, nobody wanted to leave – that was when I knew I had done my job as her wedding planner!

I am hoping that if this is what my first wedding was like, then there will only be good things to come in the future.
