I met Bianca a few years ago through mutual friends. She is honestly one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Van and Bianca have been dating for forever and they have the most gorgeous little boy called Ford.
When Bianca asked me to be her wedding planner, I said yes immediately.
Bianca decided on Jonkershuis in Groot Constantia for their big day. This wedding venue has a nice selection of areas to have the ceremony, so when we visited, Bianca got to see all of them. She settled on the sundial gardens that overlook the vineyards. It is a beautiful space for a wedding ceremony.
Everything was so nice and light with regards to the decor. It had a relaxed yet elegant feel and I thought it worked perfectly with Bianca’s style.
When the day finally rolled around on December 6th, the weather God’s were totally on our side. The weather could not have been more perfect! Once they said their vows, they decided to have a blessing for their son Ford too. I loved this part and felt that it really reflected their love for him and each other.
The cocktail hour was filled with bubbly, amazing food and lawn games for the guests to enjoy. Often I have to open the wedding reception area early as everyone is keen to get inside, but not with this wedding. Everyone was having such a great time just relaxing in the warm sun.
Katherine Newman did a great job capturing their day. Bianca looked absolutely stunning in her Wedding Boutique gown and Cindy Horton did a fabulous job as per usual with the hair and make up. I thought Bianca looked incredible! Van’s face lit up when he saw her, so I think he would agree with me on this one.
Reflecting on this wedding makes me smile. Bianca is the type of person who just wants her friends and family to have a good time. I love a bride who thinks of her guests and doesn’t make the day only about her. Of course, the day is about the bride and groom, but what makes it extra special are the people who you share the whole day with. Everyone seemed to have a great time and they really did pull out some extra special dance moves that night.
Bianca and Van, thank you for allowing me to not only be your wedding planner, but for having me as one of your guests. I really enjoyed the planning process and I wish you all the love, light and happiness in the world.
