I met Tamsyn and her parents at a coffee shop in Constantia one afternoon. We hit it off immediately and I started the planning right away. They live in America, so they needed my help to pull everything together on the SA side.
I always say that I love all my weddings, but this one was extra special to me. Tamsyn’s family embraced me and allowed me to plan every aspect of the day. They were involved with everything, but always made sure to get my opinion first before going forward with anything. I love working with families or couples who understand why they hired me.
Tamsyn and Darryn were married at the lovely Cavalli Wine Estate in Stellenbosch.
180 guests flew in from all different parts and the wedding was a wonderful celebration with all their friends and family.
The skies looked a bit grey in the morning, but I had a special word with the weather Gods and they pushed the rain the opposite way. The weather was lovely for an outdoor ceremony!
The overall look and feel were really important to Tamsyn and her mom. Rowenna and Chloe from Botanica worked really hard to make it beautiful and I was so happy with the outcome. The venue really did look amazing and the gazebo looked incredible with all the flowers!
The ceremony was very emotional and one of the bridesmaids even sang a song she wrote for the couple. It is always so nice when the friends go above and beyond. The kiss was something out of a movie and the guests laughed and clapped as they were pronounced husband and wife. The guests were then led to the lawn area where cocktails, canapes and lawn games were waiting for them.
Zara Zoo whisked them off for their couple shoot and captured some lovely images of Tamsyn and Darryn with one of Cavalli’s many gorgeous horses that they have on the estate.
The speeches were cry worthy, the food was amazing and the dancing was hilarious! The couple had choreographed their first dance to be slow, and then it changed into a faster song where they put on sunglasses and broke out into dance. It was such a hit and the crowd loved it!
Tamsyn and Darryn, you really are a lovely couple and I loved watching you enjoy your wedding day like you did. I wish you all the love and happiness in the world and am truly grateful that I was apart of such a special day!
