Jake and Luxsha get married

Jake and Luxsha, when I think of this couple, I just have to smile.
We chatted over Skype one evening and we clicked pretty much right off the bat. Once they arrived in SA we met up over a cup of coffee, the wedding talk was taken care of and then we proceeded to chat about travelling and life experiences, it was so refreshing. Luxsha’s laugh is 100% infectious, it was a delight to plan their wedding.

Luxsha and Jake had quite specific ideas about their decor. I really liked their style and the amount of effort that they put into everything they did for their special day. Hudsons Venue and Restaurant in Stellenbosch was their chosen spot to say their vows. The staff are extremely helpful and they did all of the decor and flowers that you see in these photos. Such a talented bunch of people!

The ceremony took place outside by the dam. It was a very touching ceremony and Jakes vows, as well as Luxsha’s had not only the crowd, but all of the service providers in tears!
We hired Las Paletas in for their divine artisan lollies for the cocktail hour – honestly, do yourself a favour and either hire them or buy their lollies for a special occasion. So worth it!

Once the sun had started to set, the guests were settled into their seats and the reception started. The food was served and everyone was ready to hit the dance floor. Now I just have to mention this – unfortunately Luxsha’s father has passed on, so Jake surprised her with a few of her closest male friends & family members to each have a ‘first dance’ with her in honour of her dad. I normally shed a tear or two at my weddings, but I was mess after this and I was crying buckets. It was such a beautiful sentiment and it showed how much Jakes absolutely loves and adores his new wife.

To the lovely couple.. Thank you for bringing me on board to help plan your special day. It was an honour to see you become husband and wife and I wish you all the love and happiness in the world.
