Cape Town Wedding: Adele & Mike Vrede en Lust

I am not sure where to start with this wedding. Mainly, because I am not sure what I loved most about it. For starters, Adele has this lovely contagious laugh and although she had some very specific plans for her day, she always made sure Mike was on board with it. We met via Skype after chatting over email. Adele came across my website and we set up a call. We hit it off immediately and I could just feel her happiness through my laptop. She radiates happiness all the time, which is such an awesome trait to have.

They settled on Vrede en Lust for their Cape Town wedding. This is a perfect venue for those guests that would like to make a weekend of it. The venue sleeps about 40 people, it has a restaurant, wine tasting area and a pool all on site! You literally do not need to leave the estate if you don’t want to! Nice and easy. It was important for the couple that their guests felt welcomed and enjoyed their stay in the beautiful wine region.

Adele and Mike hired Wesley Vorster to shoot their day. He captured such lovely memories for them. Ian from Vision on Fire was the videographer and I cannot wait to see what he pulled together. A great videography & photography team are imperative to a successful wedding day. Chloe and Rowenna from Botanica did such a wonderful job with the flowers and decor. Adele loved the look of her beautiful table centre pieces.

The dessert station looked so incredible! Florentines designed a stunning travel themed wedding cake. Watching Kerrith from The Overindulgence Boutique set this type of thing up is very hard. My sugar cravings are never satisfied unfortunately. Everything looked so delicious. Luckily, Adele took me by the hand when I was saying my goodbyes and demanded that I fill an entire bag with all the goodies! YES! Day made!

*Side Note – Even if you are not a person who enjoys to many sweet things, remember that there are a bunch of guests who probably do. You can mix and match this type of thing, try adding a biltong bar or a few bowls of nuts to the mix. Guests get peckish during the night and they will appreciate you going that extra mile in terms of midnight snacks or dessert stations where they can just pick something small as they walk by.

Adele and Mike, thank you so much for hiring me to plan your amazing wedding day. You were so lovely to work with and it is always so nice to see how happy you both were on the day. I wish you all the love and happiness in the world.
